Submitted a small pull request that fixes the display edits bug. I was also happy to discover today that Arno had recently implemented bar export support as well.

Now that I'm actively doing development that deviates from the original repo periodically, time to get this install synced up with my GitHub repo as well. I've never tried something like this before, but it looks like it shouldn't be too difficult.

Stephen Hackett joining forces with _DavidSmith is really cool news. David has built a ton of great apps working independently over the years, and I imagine he's long overdue in getting assistance with a lot of the non-programming labor that goes into running an indie software company. Stephen brings a ton to the table in terms of communications skills, connections within the tech podcasting-sphere, and deep knowledge of the Apple hardware and software eco-system. Seems like a super team-up.

Another warmish (35ΒΊ F) and rainy January day. Looks like temperature forecasts are continuing to trend up heading into February as well. Except for the brief January arctic blast a very mild winter so far. No complaints from my perspective.

Cover Your Assets is a pretty fun card game. It was a family Christmas present from my sister and a bunch of us gave it a try tonight.
π JAN 22 2024 19:39
Finally remembered my Dashlane master password (which I haven't used regularly for a few years) so I could regain access to a few of the random passwords I had stored there including the MySQL root password to a service I'm the primary admin for. Memory is a funny thing.

Warm (38Β° F!) and rainy day today so the streets are much improved from the icy conditions we had over the weekend. Kind of annoyed that I didn't bring a decent hat today though.
π JAN 22 2024 14:47
Apple dropped a bunch of security updates today so I've been installing macOS 14.3, 13.6.4, and 12.7.3 on various machines as appropriate this afternoon. No problems so far on the first four upgrades thankfully.

It's interesting that Beluga is still entirely dependent on having some kind of S3 compatible storage when the creator referenced the fact last year that it could easily work with shared hosting with the right php script to handle file uploads.
π JAN 21 2024 15:17
Whoa. beluga.social is really cool. Just discovered it today when Manton Reece referenced it. Also subscribed to Beluga creator Giovanni Collazo's feed (beluga.gcollazo.com) in NetNewsWire.

I'm very much in the Dave Winer camp of being completely uninterested in Activity Pub support everywhere. I have things to say here, but first and foremost it's for me. I'm also kind of reluctant to connect this feed to micro.blog. If people find this and want to follow me via a feed reader awesome. But I'm not looking for likes and I'm not really looking for immediate interaction either.

Finally noticed and confirmed my Apple Watch had stopped syncing my fitness data at the beginning of January. I think re-pairing it has resolved the issue, but annoyed that it required that drastic of a solution and that I lost all that data from the last couple of weeks.

Really sad to hear that Sam Mewis's knee injury has forced her to retire from professional soccer. Huge loss for the USWNT the last couple of years and now going forward. With knee surgery and recovery so commonplace in sports, it still feels surprising to hear a case where modern medicine has fallen short. I do think she will be absolutely fantastic covering women's soccer for the Men in Blazers network.

One thing that today's match showed me is that Ivan Toney has a lot better link-up play than I realized. Still don't think he's a very good Spurs target given the transfer fee Brentford is going to demand for him.
β½οΈ JAN 20 2024 10:36
Forest's third kit is like an obnoxious film negative of Brentford's main kit. Also, Ivan Toney moved the ball twice before his free-kick goal.

Cleaning out my MTGA deck collection this morning by archiving a bunch of stuff in Drafts. I should really do this more regularly.
π§ββοΈJAN 19 2024 22:39
Had decent luck on the ranked ladder with a mono green Dinos deck that MythicMike came up with. Wasn't completely happy with the curve and mana dorks so I added some Bushwhacks. 4-1 so far!

One small creative project that I feel motivated to work on soon is an updated social media avatar. I still identify with the one I made with the iMadeFace app roughly a decade ago, but the hairline and facial hair coloring aren't quite right anymore.
βοΈ JAN 19 2024 10:21
Started the morning off with some unexpected server maintenance at work and learned a lot about Linux logical volume management configuration in the process.
πͺ² JAN 19 2024 06:43
Getting up now, suspect it's some kind of JavaScript mobile UI bug.
πͺ² JAN 19 2024 06:36
Whoa, triple post. Clearly some kind of bug.
πͺ² JAN 19 2024 06:36
Weird, managed a duplicate post again. Not sure why that's happening. Or how to avoid it.
π± JAN 19 2024 06:36
Been awake for a while but not particularly motivated to get up. Doesn't help that Sterling is cuddled up against me right now too.
βοΈ JAN 18 2024 14:39
Checked twice to see if the plows have come through on the street I parked my car on and no sign yet. With my luck they'll go through shortly before it's time for me to head home, and I'll end up stuck behind a berm. There's a snow shovel I can borrow, but I'd prefer to know that I need it before I leave my office.
π JAN 18 2024 07:17
Didn't enjoy today's commute into work at all. Way more compact snow on the arterials than usual, and all the intersections were inexplicably worse. Shocked to find my usual parking spot on Sharp unplowed because the road hadn't been either. Feel like the City of Spokane really dropped the ball on this one.
β½οΈ JAN 17 2024 12:37
Very surprised to hear that Alfie Devine is now joining Ash Phillips at Plymouth Argyle on a new six month loan after Spurs chose to end his loan to Port Vale. Sounds like Argyle's new manager knows him well from the national youth level and is going to play him a lot in the Championship side which should be great for his development.
π¨οΈ JAN 17 2024 12:26
Snowfall really ramped up during my lunch. Just had to go out and shovel around 3" of fresh snow off the driveway, which is a lot more in one go than I had to deal with during my previous passes. Kids are taking advantage of the snowfall to go enjoy the big sledding hill at the edge of our neighborhood.
π¨οΈ JAN 17 2024 10:52
Still snowing pretty steadily, and looks like it's going to continue through the evening. I've already cleared the driveway three separate times, but it's been easy work as the snow is quite powdery.
βοΈ JAN 17 2024 07:10
A lot less snow this morning than expected- probably 2" of powder at most. Still coming down now, but I had no problems with my first pass at clearing the driveway. Curious to hear what other parts of Spokane have received so far.
π JAN 17 2024 00:14
All the blue check water carriers for Apple on the hellsite in regard to their "bad-faith compliance plan" as Epic boss Tim Sweeney put it, are pretty gross. It's a completely unacceptable plan that insults the intelligence of the District Court, the public, and third-party developers.
π§ββοΈ JAN 16 2024 23:58
Had fun picking up some wins in the Midweek Magic Historic Pauper event. I brewed a couple of variations on a Mono Red Burn/Artifact synergy deck that did pretty well for both my accounts. Ran into mostly red mirrors and Orzhov gain and drain, unfortunately. My most successful deck was mono black Zombies on my main account. Looking forward to jamming a lot more games over the next couple of days.
βοΈ JAN 16 2024 18:33
8-12" snow forecast for our neck of the woods overnight. Annoying that I probably won't be able to start clearing the driveway before it's accumulated enough to be a pain.
π‘ JAN 16 2024 13:06
Sounds like I should move off of feedland.org and onto feedland.com (the free version hosted on Automattic's infrastructure) so I went ahead and did that. Still generally prefer NetNewsWire for my feed needs, but I like trying new stuff.
β½οΈ JAN 16 2024 12:40
ReguilΓ³n to Brentford on a 6-month loan with no option to buy. Hope he does well and we're able to move him on over the summer.
π§ββοΈπ JAN 16 2024 12:22
I'm a little slow on the uptake, but the Lords of Limited guys doing YouTube versions of their podcast nowadays is a nice upgrade since they show the cards they're referencing. I'm also just more likely to watch one at lunch or play one in the background when I'm at my desk working on my computer.
π‘ JAN 16 2024 09:46
Starting to think about implementing RSS 2.0 support for microblog.php and brought it up for discussion on GitHub first. I think the existing Atom support is fine, but the format's title requirement is at odds with microblogging.
π¨οΈ JAN 16 2024 08:56
Snow in the forecast overnight with some possibility of freezing rain later on as well. Glad I'm working from home for the next couple of days and won't be driving in those conditions.
βοΈ JAN 16 2024 07:22
Looks like my microblog.php pull requests were merged today. Happy I was able to contribute in a small way to a cool project.
