πΊβ½οΈ La Liga All Access S1E3 - King of the North ππ Really good episode featuring the two Basque rivals, Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, their unique player requirements, and the leadup to their first derby of the season. This one was particularly interesting to me because Spanish Euro 2024 sensation Nico Williams plays for Ahtletic Club, and I also recently found out through my brother that we have a tiny bit of Basque heritage in our DNA.

Good 30 minute early morning run with my daughters today. It's going to hit 105Β°F by this afternoon so we had to get it done while the heat is still bearable!

π΄ββοΈ39-year-old cycling legend Mark Cavendish finished his final Tour de France today as the Lanterne Rouge after finally breaking Eddy Merckx's total stage wins record on Stage 5 this year. My interest in the GC aspect of the sport has waned a bit over the last decade because of its historical lack of competitive integrity, but my respect for the sprinters and points category has remained pretty constant even if I don't tune in regularly anymore.

πΊβ½οΈ La Liga All Access S1E2 - The First ClΓ‘sico ππ Barca, Xavi, and Lewandowski are front and center in this one as they prepare for their first meeting with Real Madrid and then deal with the consequences of their loss.

πΊβ½οΈ La Liga All Access S1E1 - Challenging the Giants ππ AtlΓ©tico Madrid and Sevilla FC are the focus of the first episode and the latter team is struggling so they bring in Sergio Ramos. The AtlΓ©ti portion is particularly interesting to me because of the Morata vs Memphis Depay starting striker competition and getting access to Simeone in general- I love seeing top managers work.
On a sad random sidebar to the episode: I'd heard nothing of what's going on in Ramos's personal life over the last few years, but having watched his reality series I immediately knew things were not right between him and his wife Pilar when she joined him for his Sevilla introduction and a quick web follow up confirmed it. Pretty sure it all started going wrong when he uprooted his family from Madrid for his disastrous PSG stint. Real echoes of Tom Brady.

πΊ Young Sheldon S2E17 - Albert Einstein and the Story of Another Maryππ Mary and George go on an emotional rollercoaster when she and most of their small town find out that she's pregnant while Sheldon gets some great advice from a rabbi after failing to master the violin in a weekend. The old school violin lesson video tape scenes are epic!

Patched the kids' above-ground pool again Sunday and then finally installed a ceiling fan in a bedroom that we should have years ago so pretty productive day.

β½οΈ Took me until the second half of Sunday's England - Spain game to finally realize the the Fox Sports app solves the poor broadcast TV reception issue we have on the local Fox station at our house (which is a major issue when watching international soccer in the US).

Sad to hear Richard Simmons passed away today. Talk about an 80's fitness legend and all-around good person who helped a lot of people.
