ππΊ I didn't realize that TNT is on the verge of losing out on their part of the NBA broadcast trifecta (NBC and ESPN/ABC being the other longtime partners) to Amazon. TNT has been a mainstay since my teens, and I have a lot of affection for its studio show but I haven't had cable for over a decade and in 2024 I'm far more likely to watch a random NBA game streamed on Amazon.

β½οΈ Chris Davies has left his Senior Assistant Coach role at Spurs to become Manager at Birmingham City. Not surprising considering he's well regarded and had the chance to go to Swansea midseason. Hopefully he'll have a lot more success there than Wayne Rooney and the recent parade of short-term managers did.

π I am the master of finding some cool new web or software technology, briefly playing with it, and immediately coming up with an edge case that I want to do that isn't popular or well-supported. In this case I'm talking about doing a Tumblog style blog in the post block-editor WordPress world.

βοΈ The state of WordPress themes in 2024 is... something else. Automattic still has some interesting free ones, but it's quite hard to search for them among all the commercial dross in the self-hosted theme installer. If you have a wordpress.com account there's a lot more selection to choose from so I'm looking through there now.

Despite everything I got the biggest kick out of Georgie's doomed quest for Veronica's affections.

πΊ Young Sheldon S2E8 - An 8-Bit Princess and a Flat Tire Genius ππ Probably my favorite episode of the season so far as Sheldon and Connie team up to become video game addicts and Georgie reveals his auto repair skills and tire genius.

π‘ Successfully disassembled our washing machine and replaced the drum seal. Cleaned a ton of disgusting scum off the drum while I had it out as well. After the first test load cautiously optimistic that it's fixed the leak and additionally I'm happy to report that the new seal seems to have reduced vibrations during the spin cycle as well.

πΊβ½οΈ Welcome to Wrexham S3E6 - Far Away, So Close ππ A really cool episode focusing on the surprising group of Welsh-descended Argentinians that live in Patagonia and the connection some of them have made with their motherland as Wrexham supporters. Jacob Mendy also represents Gambia in the Af-Con, and Wrexham's away form continues to be poor. The moving highlight of course was Rob and Ryan bringing a group of the Patagonian supporters in for a match and Paul Mullin breaking out of his recent slump with a hat trick. The crazy highlight was having Prince William drop by for the St. David's Day holiday and finding out Humphrey has known him since childhood because they went to school together!

β½οΈ Disappointing Champions League Final today, but it was fun watching with my daughters. Dortmund played pretty well for 70 minutes but didn't capitalize on their chances. Pretty surprising how Real Madrid got their game-deciding goals in the last two games with Joselu vs. Bayern and Carvajal today.
