🎠🎙 In other wild news a three-decade Spokane morning commute radio staple the Dave, Ken, and Molly Show was abruptly canceled yesterday in a sudden "corporate restructuring." I haven't listened to live radio regularly for a long time, but I imagine their show was still one of the most popular ones in the Spokane market. I even listened to them briefly this year while getting some lab work done. The corporate overlords couldn't even do it properly and axe them over the weekend, let alone give them a final goodbye week or something.

👾 I've been having a ton of fun getting the hang of Pixel Font Editor this week. I really enjoy fiddling around with bitmap fonts, and call me crazy but higher resolution fonts still look pretty good when scaled down.

🩰 Busy last couple of days. Spent the evening downtown yesterday watching back to back end of year ballet performances that my oldest daughter was dancing in.

🏃 Based on the Doppler radar we may be doing an after-dinner evening run. Back when I was in high school (and training for cross country) I used to do that pretty regularly during the summer to combat the heat.

⛈ It's really storming outside right now with a mix of rain and hail. My daughters and I are supposed to go running this afternoon, but I think we'll wait until it passes.

🎮 One thing I want to try is setting up a computer as a dedicated Xonotic server for our future LAN battles. Hosting games from my primary desktop was fine, but it's only viable if I'm around to play as well.

🎮 Had a blast playing Xonotic with five of my kids. My teenage sons were the best players, but my three younger daughters held their own and were having lots of fun too. Years of playing Minecraft helps ease the FPS jump.

🍿 Ultraman: Rising 👍👍 Watched the new Netflix animated movie with the family tonight and it was as big of a hit with the kids as I suspected it would be when I saw the trailer. Very cute premise and I enjoyed the role baseball played throughout the film.

🎮 I'm impressed with how well Porting Kit works with GOG and older PC games that don't have a Mac version.

🎙🧙‍♂ Made an absolutely wild discovery while listening to the fourth episode of the When We Were Wizards podcast. TSR published a competing RPG to D&D called Empire of the Petal Throne, based on an extensive fictional universe created by M. A. R. Barker, a linguistics professor who was born in Spokane and grew up in Washington and Idaho. Barker's world view seems to have followed a truly unique progression as he went from converting to Islam while visiting India in the 50s to becoming a holocaust denier in the 90s, and eventually publishing a Neo-Nazi science fiction novel called Serpent's Walk in the early 2000s.
