๐ ๐ฝ Just saw that former Spokane Congressman George Nethercutt passed away at age 79. I believe I met him briefly in 1999 when my family traveled to Washington D.C. for a summer vacation and we stopped by his office to pick up our White House tour tickets. I found him way more likable than his eventual successor Cathy McMorris - Rodgers.

๐ I haven't followed the NBA too closely since the Sonics were stolen from Seattle, but I just realized that the NBA is in an unprecedented period with six unique teams winning Championships over the last six seasons. As awesome as that is for the competitive health of the league, I'm guessing that it's been terrible for ratings.

๐๐งฐ I'm intrigued by the minimal writing tool for WordPress project that Dave Winer is working on. WordPress out of the box in 2024 is all about creating over-designed marketing sites for small businesses, but it's still a legitimate platform for building all kinds of other stuff and old-school blogs.

๐ฎ I was wondering how Xonotic stats were assigned to a single user without a login/password. It turns out that there's a secret key file at "~/Library/Application Support/xonotic/key_0.d0si" on Mac that you'll need to copy over to any other computers where you want to maintain your identity and stats.

๐บ The Acolyte S1E1 - Lost / Found ๐๐ Intriguing first episode with a great opening fight scene and some cool Jedi characters. Looking forward to learning more about Osha's backstory and why she left the Jedi Order. Also curious to find out the explanation for her lack of Force powers when she needed them on the transport ship.

๐ฎ Quake 3 Arena is on sale at GOG until the middle of the month so I'm kind of tempted to pick it up and see if we can get some family death matches going. Alternatively, Marathon is open source and an option as well.

โ๏ธ Speaking of Atom feeds something went wrong with the appearance of the previous post in Atom, but not json feed. Digging a little deeper. Ahh, I see. There are some very strange-to-me default choices in the Atom feed related to content being set to text rather than html. Funny that I never noticed this was happening every time I put links in a post before now. I feel a microblog.php coding binge coming on again. Time to fix the Atom feed and finally add markdown functionality.

๐ Discovered a new php Microblogging project called LAMB and simultaneously learned how to properly do a title-less microblog using Atom after inspecting the feed for the developer's microblog.

โฝ๏ธ๐ฟLewandowski - Unknown ๐ Enjoyable highly personal documentary with the Polish striker that gave me a lot more insight into an all-time great player that I mostly knew of from highlights. I found his personality highly relatable and I appreciated the ambition with which he approached moving to Bayern and then Barca. I also found some of the Bayern supporter attitudes toward him kind of sad.
