📺 Star Trek: Discovery S5E10 - Life, Itself 👍👍 Satisfying conclusion to the Discovery saga with a fun time jump coda. It wasn't a perfect show, but I always enjoyed it, and Mr. Saru was an absolute standout character.

📺 Star Trek: Discovery S5E9 - Lagrange Point 👍👍 Fun caper to steal back the McGuffin from the Breen dreadnought in the penultimate episode with a nice cliff hanger setup for the finale to boot. Totally forgot to write this one up last week after I had watched it.

🧙♂️ Despite what I said yesterday about not being much of a Historic player messed around in the play queue last night with some of the newer 1 drop flyer options. Got beat up on by Wizards quite a bit, but actually won enough games to keep playing. The big key was the games were quite fast.

🎮 That said, I also still need to pick up the new Omenroad DLC for Wildermyth. My girls and I have really enjoyed playing Wildermyth together, but we've been on a bit of a break and need to get back to it again.

⚽️🎮 I had a ton of fun playing as Spurs in Football Manager 2020, but the old three-sub limitation really bugs me in the five-sub era, and Harry Kane was bizarrely terrible for me. I'd actually like to try playing with a team from a lower league. Wrexham would be awesome for instance.

⚽️🎮 Thinking about picking up Football Manager 2024 soon. Expecting to scale back my Arena playing this summer since most of the emphasis appears be on MH3 until Bloomburrow comes out at the end of July and I'm not a huge Historic and Timeless player.

🐓 I'd never heard of Raising Cane's before this morning, but apparently they specialize in chicken strips, are very popular, and are going to be moving in next door to the local Chick-Fil-A in the fall of 2025.

🏡 Getting back into the swing of things with work. I do kind of feel like last week passed without accomplishing a whole lot at home, although I know that's not entirely true. I worked on our chest freezer, did some yard related stuff, spent a lot of time with the family.

⚽️ Looks like Spurs are signing Timo Werner on loan for all of next season with the same terms as before. I think this is great as we still need a younger impact left winger and Timo will gives us cover without long-term obligation while we work on filling that role.

🏀 Bill Walton really was ahead of his time as a player and as an announcer. I vaguely remember my somewhat old-school dad finding him annoying behind the microphone when he started, but I think we live in an era now where people genuinely appreciate the unique approach and joy he brought to life and the game of basketball. I know I did and I've enjoyed the social media outpouring of love since yesterday.

📧 Catching up on a week of emails for work after last week's vacation. At least the last couple weeks of May are usually quiet before things ramp up again in June.

🏡 Our ten-year-old+ washing machine has been running okay since I worked on it a month ago, but over the weekend we noticed that it has developed a small leak above the transmission. I've ordered a new tub gasket, but have a feeling we are going to need to replace the transmission sooner or later.

🏀 Very bummed out to learn today that Bill Walton had passed away. He was a complete character that grew on me quite a bit over the years. His enthusiasm and crazy tangents rarely failed to bring a smile to my face during a broadcast. I don't think he'd ever publicly revealed his cancer diagnosis so I have no idea how long he was living with it. I'm pretty sure I remember him broadcasting some college games this past season. Somewhere in a shoebox, I have some old photos of him and my dad when he came to Spokane to help out with the Jammin' Hoops camp.

📺⚽️ Welcome to Wrexham S3E5 - Temporary 👍👍 100-year-old Wrexham fan Arthur Massey is the touching framing story of this episode, but there's actually a bunch of interesting stuff going on as well. Onkwonko is back in goal (with a Batman-esque facemask), Rob and Ryan decide to construct a temporary stand because construction of the permanent Kop is mired in bureaucracy, and Notts County is struggling after losing their manager to Swansea and some key players to injury.

📺⚽️ Welcome to Wrexham S3E4 - Risky Business 👍👍 Cool look into the business side of the project and how the players and community are looking to capitalize on Wrexham's success and build something lasting. Then the team's good run of form is put into jeopardy again when their talented young goalkeeper, Arthur Okwonko, ends up with a broken jaw after an innocuous-looking play.

📺⚽️ Welcome to Wrexham S3E3 - Notts County 👍👍 Great episode with a lot of moving and meaningful substories. The women's team's debut in the Welsh top flight and the player (Mia Roberts) from last season who was cut and is now going to University. A 5-0 drubbing at Stockport and Arsenal loanee Arthur Okwonko taking over in goal and sparking a resurgence leading into the key Notts County away game.

⚽️ I am in utter disbelief that United won the FA Cup 2-0 over City. Best part is that Chelsea get the Europa Conference League now.

📱📚 A refurbished Kobo Libra H2O can be had for around $100 on AliExpress right now. That's pretty appealing as that's a really good price for the hardware. I definitely don't mind moving away from Amazon and mostly read library ebooks anyway.

📺 Young Sheldon S2E2 - A Rival Prodigy and Sir Isaac Newton 👍A fun introduction to Sheldon's new female rival Paige. The best part was Sheldon turning to Star Trek and Mr. Spock to grapple with the strong emotions he's experienced since Paige showed up.

📺 Young Sheldon S2E1 - A High-Pitched Buzz and Training Wheels 👍👍 Sheldon destroying his family's refrigerator while trying to eliminate a buzz that only annoys him sets up a nice life lesson on the daily grind and some quality interaction with his dad as he works as a paperboy to pay off the $200 bill.

🧙♂️ Decided to quit drafting and crack all my OTJ packs today. I still enjoy drafting the set (and it's my favorite of this release cycle by far), but I'm effectively rare complete and ready to start saving gold and gems again.
