π Microcosm - 2024 Nov 15-23
β½οΈ NOV 23 2024 11:57
Tottenham winning 0 - 4 at the Etihad was not remotely something I would have considered possible and is Spurs fandom in a nutshell.
β½οΈ NOV 23 2024 10:31
I didn't realize how big of a funk Man City is in right now with four straight losses for the first time in forever. They've certainly had chances against Spurs so far despite being down two at halftime. Still anyone's game.
π· NOV 23 2024 07:39
Back to the 2024 image caption editing grindstone this morning.
β½οΈ NOV 23 2024 07:37
Spurs game actually on Peacock this morning you say? Inconceivable!
π§οΈ NOV 23 2024 07:32
Ridiculous amount of rain in the last 24 hours. .75" so far and it's still raining pretty hard this morning.
π NOV 22 2024 13:22
Good rainy lunchtime run with the girls. It's tough to run in the afternoon when I go into work now that it's virtually dark by the time I get home. We're going to have to adjust our running schedule accordingly.
π NOV 22 2024 10:23
Cool, my M4 mini exception has been approved. I need to start optimizing my home office arrangement but should be pretty set going forward otherwise.
π§° NOV 22 2024 08:19
Based on what happened today with Safari's auto-unzip functionality utterly botching the decompress step of my Twitter archive (a single 45MB README.txt file in /data π) I wonder if that happened to the archive I thought I downloaded in around 2022.
π§οΈ NOV 22 2024 08:11
The atmospheric river is coming our way as it looks like solid rain through Saturday at least.
π NOV 21 2024 22:52
Went to Mt. Spokane High School's production of Puffs, the unofficial Harry Potter comedy about Hufflepuff tonight with Nathan and had a good time. Lots of funny moments and the students did a great job on a really complicated production.
π§οΈ NOV 21 2024 10:04
Wet and drizzly day! Just did a quick walk around campus and was reminded that my shoes aren't completely watertight and could use a little repair.π
π¦ NOV 21 2024 07:40
Excited to only have to come into work one more day after today (Monday) before my six-day-long Thanksgiving staycation begins.
βοΈ NOV 20 2024 23:58
Learned yesterday that they're canceling this year's annual Thanksgiving Week dodgeball competition. I think a lot of people are getting older in the department and regret how they feel the day after participating. Can't say I blame them at all.
π₯± NOV 20 2024 22:30
Pretty tired. Woke up before my alarm around 5 am so It's been a long day.
π NOV 20 2024 12:48
Reddit's down too, this may be some kind of cloud service issue.
π¦ NOV 20 2024 12:36
Uh oh, looks like bsky.app is actually down right now. Getting an Internal Server Error.
π§ββ NOV 20 2024 11:49
MythicMike put together a pretty sweet Dimir Tempo Skeletons deck. That makes me think that a Simic Tempo Beasts shell might be Loot's best hope for a remotely workable deck (inspired by a PowrDragn query). FDN Loot is a terrible rare in my opinion.
π₯Ά NOV 20 2024 11:43
Feeling the post lunch chill after starting the day feeling over-layered. Glad I keep a sweater at the office.
π NOV 20 2024 09:37
I read an uplifting article about a local boxing gym today and a young immigrant member semi-randomly expressed his idea for a basketball league for short people and now I'm overthinking it.
πΏ NOV 20 2024 08:01
Wallice - The Jester was my new indie artist/album listening discovery (obsession?) yesterday. The Opener immediately spoke to me, but the rest of the album kept demanding a re-listen because soulful alt-pop/rock. Is. So. My. Jam.
π§οΈ NOV 20 2024 07:25
That snow warning I got on my watch Monday afternoon amounted to nothing because it came as fairly heavy rain. To be fair to the forecasters we're still in the mid 30s Β°F, just a couple degrees cooler and it would have been a lot of snow.
π NOV 20 2024 07:21
Also, because many of these capsule episode reviews are only a couple sentences worth of text, adding a relevant image from themoviedb.com (which is a great resource in this regard).
π NOV 19 2024 14:09
Convinced myself that breaking out links, tv episode summary reviews, and movies for 2024 is the way forward. It means a bunch more organization work, but I'll end up with a blog that I'm satisfied with.
βοΈ NOV 19 2024 13:36
Time for an afternoon coffee refresh.
ποΈ NOV 19 2024 10:20
Forgot to put out the garbage last night but thankfully no trucks have come by yet today.
πΏ NOV 19 2024 10:12
Felt like breaking out of the pop/dance music rut I've been in lately so I've been listening to Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' Into The Great Wide Open since last night.
π NOV 19 2024 09:44
January, February, and March were really active microblogging periods for me. Going through them has also helped reinforce what I think should be elevated to full link posts and that perhaps I should have movie and television tags on my blog as well.
NOV 19 2024 07:46
π March 2024 has been an interesting month for creating microcosm posts because it was before I realized my microblogging system didn't support markdown and I had some posts that were worth elevating to standalone posts on so.axodys.com.
NOV 19 2024 07:39
π Finally got to try out Apple School Manager's ability to turn off activation lock on an iPad for work this morning. Fingers crossed that it will work as expected.
βοΈ NOV 18 2024 14:44
Just got a snow alert on my watch. Looks like it's supposed to happen tonight around 10 pm which is perfect. No impact on my commute and I won't have to deal with it tomorrow as I work from home (other than shoveling the driveway).
π§οΈ NOV 18 2024 14:42
Got away from my desk for a quick walk around campus with a slight sprinkling of rain. That was nice, but I was acutely aware of feeling drained as I started, even though my energy was fine throughout.
π§ββNOV 18 2024 12:54
Mythic Mike has a really fun Mardu Humans deck powered by Alesha that I probably don't need to spend too many wildcards on.
π NOV 18 2024 12:50
I've been meaning to set up Tailscale on my home network. I'm also intrigued by the idea of setting up a local install of linkding.
πΊ NOV 17 2024 19:32
Arcane S2 has been absolutely epic so far.
π NOV 17 2024 17:38
Signed up for storygraph.com because it sounds like an interesting alternative to Goodreads and Jeff Bezos.
π‘ NOV 17 2024 12:26
Depressing to discover that a bunch more leaves ended up in our backyard since I raked and mowed yesterday.
π§ββ NOV 17 2024 10:52
I'm having terrible luck drafting Foundations so far, both in drafting and in play. Most recently I'd committed to Azorius control after Pack 1 and then had two Alesha's passed to me during Pack 2. How does that even happen?
βοΈ NOV 17 2024 10:38
Time to go through my blog post importing todo list again. It's been a while since I've imported old stuff and I still need to update a bunch of my microcosm posts to the timeline layout.
π‘ NOV 17 2024 10:32
The washing machine continues to leak unpredictably. So frustrating.
π‘ NOV 16 2024 13:04
Time to take down our deck sun shade. Sounds like we might get our first snowfall overnight and it's actually dry right now after a fairly wet week.
π NOV 16 2024 12:59
Did another practice drive with Nathan. Houston's been sick since last night so I had him stay home to make sure the girls stayed out of trouble.
π§ββ NOV 16 2024 09:22
Screaming Nemesis is a pretty sweet answer to lifegain decks for people playing red.
π NOV 16 2024 06:16
Looks like I'll finally be doing an anticipated oil change on one of our cars today.
π§Ά NOV 15 2024 15:37
Now that it's knitting season maybe I'll try whipping up some kind of M4 mac mini cozy.
π§ NOV 15 2024 15:05
My mom dropped by this afternoon for a quick visit and to add her contribution to Nate's birthday drumset fund. He declined to do a demo because he said it was too loud.π€
π NOV 15 2024 13:35
Submitted my exception request for a 24GB / 512GB SSD m4 mac mini today rather than the default 13" macBook Air most mac users at work get.
π» NOV 15 2024 07:43
Psyched that Bear Blog now supports multi-tag filtering. That will make archives and other cool post collections much easier.
πΆβπ«οΈ NOV 15 2024 07:33
Super foggy this morning. Glad I didn't have to drive through it into work this morning as fog usually brings black ice on the roads during this time of year.
