🏈 Went into mass yesterday not knowing the final outcome of the Apple Cup, came out an hour later to see my Cougs had made a game-winning goal-line stand to secure the win. Pretty cool way to launch the Pac-12 regen.
Also enjoyed all the non-soccer fans complaining about having to subscribe to Peacock to watch the game. Between Homicide: Life on the Streets, EPL, and USL-S it's probably the service I've gotten the most value out of since August. Might even use it to watch some B1G teams lose this season too.

⚽️ Forest getting the 0 - 1 victory at Anfield was not on my Premier League bingo card this morning. Fair play to Nuno and his men for an excellent road win. Elsewhere Brentford gave City a scare before a Haaland brace restored order and the 2 - 1 win.

Setting up my son's new iPhone 14-Plus went pretty smoothly. The biggest hurdle was transferring his phone number since the new iPhone uses esims, but even that was straightforward via a combination of the Xfinity website and their app.

🏈 On an American football related note I was shocked by how many empty seats I saw at the recent Houston - LA Rams preseason game I saw in a recent punting analysis YouTube video, but apparently they struggle with regular season in stadium attendance even though most tickets are accounted for.

🏈 In today's reminder that event ticket prices are insane in 2024: Apple Cup cheap seats at Lumen field are in the $100 range. As ambivalent as I am about american football and as much as I despise B1G and SEC driven NCAA conference consolidation I don't foresee going to a live college football game any time soon.

The rejuvenated Pac-12 is grabbing Boise State, Fresno State, San Diego State, and Colorado State from the Mountain West. They still need two more football schools to be a fully viable conference, but I have to wonder if Gonzaga is of interest for basketball, baseball, volleyball, track, and soccer.

My oldest son got a new iPhone 14 Plus for his birthday as a combined gift from his grandparents, parents, and a little of his own money. Now we've got to get him set up with a case, some kind of headphone adapter solution, and migrate the data from his old phone.

🏈🚔 Having seen the initial body cam footage from the Tyreek Hill situation I can see why it escalated- both parties were being incredibly petty in how they handled the interaction. Hall didn't roll his tinted window down all the way and repeatedly told the cop to quit knocking on it. The cop snapped at the perceived disrespect and was 100% out of line once he got his colleagues involved.
