🗓 Microcosm - 2025 Apr 1-8
🗽🇺🇦 APR 08 2025 08:17
In the giving credit where credit is due department, saw today that Congressman Baumgartner sent a bipartisan letter to President Trump yesterday advocating for the Ukrainian refugees in our country to get continued protection.
🏀 APR 07 2025 20:15
Houston going out like that after leading by as much as 12 points in the second half is so disappointing.
😡 APR 07 2025 14:15
Two international students at GU had their visas revoked abruptly. Thankfully the university discovered this and began assisting them in navigating this scenario before they got swept up by ICE.
🗽 APR 07 2025 09:11
I see in today's Spokesman that Baumgartner said the right things about being against tariffs in the media last Friday and he's relayed his concerns to the appropriate colleagues.
⚽️🎮 APR 07 2025 08:46
Now that I've got a known working gamepad I want to pick up another one so I can play some co-op and head-to-head game in Bang Average Football or the girls can play on their computers when they want.
📚 APR 07 2025 08:32
Took the girls to the library yesterday afternoon. They're all old enough to have their own library cards now, but the funny thing is that they tend to read each other's books once they finish their own. It's awesome how much they all like to read though.
🌧️ APR 07 2025 08:04
Another rainy commute into work. May or may not be getting a little sick too as my nose is stuffy and my throat had a little tickle when I woke up in the middle of the night.
🖼️🤖 APR 06 2025 15:12
Kids noticed that this week's church bulletin had used AI art for the cover of the bulletin because Jesus had three hands.😂
⚽️ APR 06 2025 07:21
Spurs up 2 - 0 at the moment, but haven't looked convincing in the second half. Son and Bentancur off for Odebert and Sarr.
🗽 APR 05 2025 14:50
Got a pretty pro-Trump and generic response to my email asking for a response to the tariffs this week. Appreciate the speed with which his staff responded on a Saturday even if the content was lacking. Contemplating next actions.
🗽 APR 05 2025 10:02
Sent a follow-up email this morning to Representative Baumgartner demanding a response about the tariffs since he ignored them in his newsletter.
🗽 APR 04 2025 17:56
Baumgartner completely ignored the tariffs in his weekly update and focused on the work he's doing in the House Judiciary to overturn Washinton's sanctuary city laws.
🏀 APR 04 2025 13:51
Final Four is back on CBS this year. Looking forward to watching Duke - Houston in particular.
🚙 APR 04 2025 10:12
Don't have to drive my son to school anymore now that he's fully licensed and insured. It's been a long time coming, but a nice change.
🗽 APR 04 2025 08:03
Sent Representative Baumgartner an email about the tariffs. Didn't ask for a response this time, but curious to see what he has to say in this week's newsletter even though I'm not particularly optimistic.
⚽️ APR 03 2025 14:57
Spurs lose 1 - 0 in a game that I couldn't really watch and didn't particularly want to anyway.
⚽️ APR 03 2025 11:58
Spurs game coming up. Our twenty-first-century history against Chelsea is so poor and this Premier League season has been so bad it's hard not to dread this game.
🤢 APR 03 2025 07:29
Sick kids overnight means another very early start with the pups and working from home this morning on a day I usually go into work (I'll head in after lunch).
🥱 APR 02 2025 13:02
Had trouble getting back to sleep last night after we took the pups out for their bathroom break at 2 am. Really feeling that now.
🧙♂🎮 APR 02 2025 12:20
Looking at the GOG Spring sale to see if there are any interesting and inexpensive Mac-friendly multiplayer games right now.
🍏⚙️ APR 02 2025 10:26
Sequoia not changing the login screen background from the default tree when you specifically change your wallpaper and screensaver in settings is really chapping my hide.
🪦 APR 02 2025 08:14
Val Kilmer passed at 65 yesterday, another great lost to pneumonia before his time. I'm definitely adding more of his oeuvre to my movie-watching list in the year ahead.
🗽 APR 01 2025 19:06
Watched the last hour and a half of Cory Booker's record-breaking filibuster and loved every meaningful minute of it other than really needing a bathroom break that I held off on in solidarity.
☕️ APR 01 2025 13:14
Time for some coffee before my long afternoon meeting.
🃏 APR 01 2025 07:31
My son set up his drum kit in the living room as an April Fool's prank.
