🕵️♂️ Mystery of the Missing Twitter Archive
I spent1 an excessive amount of time tonight tracking down various archives to places I've blogged and micro-blogged over the years. I was mostly successful, but locating my Twitter Archive proved to be a puzzling experience. I distinctly recall doing one last download in 2022 after Elon Musk started wreaking havoc there. I also followed that up by deleting the vast majority of my tweets. I can't figure out where that final recent archive ended up for the life of me.
I've checked personal and work computers I would have probably been using around that time. Dropbox, iCloud Files, and every other conceivable place I might have backed up the archive file once downloaded. But I found nothing that recent. I do have a Twitter archive from sometime in 2017, but not 2022. That said, it's not the end of the world as I effectively switched to Twitter alternatives in 2017 and rarely use it for anything beyond reading and occasionally responding to tweets. But it's still quite puzzling to be sure I downloaded it two years ago yet today was unable to find a trace of it.
