💨 Week Notes 024
🗓️ // Jun 8, 2025 - Jun 14, 2025
I worked out in the yard a bit this week, but probably didn't do as much as Mary was hoping. I've got multiple things that I needed to make serious progress on today. In particular, getting the pool space square away for a 15' pool rather than just 12' like we've had the last several years.
- National issues are starting to seep into Spokane with a big ICE confrontation by local protestors and police after two legal Venezuelan asylum seekers were picked up at their hearing.
- The confrontation nearly disrupted the end of the Spokane Velocity game I was watching with huge clouds of pepper smoke (but not tear-gas) wafting through the east stands and obscuring the field. Choosing to fire those off at the protestors right next to a big sport event on a windy day was incredibly ill-considered.
- Had the weirdest vividly memorable dream in a long time this morning featuring me as a high school basketball assistant coach again for a team that was not Ferris, a curiously anonymous Tom Brady who was hanging out up front on the team bus.
Watching
- 📺 Welcome to Wrexham S4E6: Red Dragons 👍 👍 Mostly Rob and Ryan free episode this week and quite poignant if you've been along for the ride from the beginning. The team is closing in on the Championship places, but stuck in third. Meanwhile, Palmer and Mullin are completely on the periphery, left out of the team or not even playing when selected. Humphrey continues his marathon training journey and completes the New York half marathon in two and a half hours while looking like death.
Playing
- 🧙♂ The Final Fantasy set has been really fun on Magic Arena so far. I've yet to do a draft, but the 10 Final Fantasy Jump - In sets have been really interesting and I've been using those to build up the girls and my collections. There are also a ton of cool and cute cosmetics that they are interested in (as I expected).
Reading
- 🎧📚 Thursday, pn a whim, started listening to the Bullet Journal audiobook. I was vaguely familiar with the system, like analog systems, and have been using digital task lists for work for a long time so I thought why not give this a go and see what it's all about.
Listening
- ⚽️🎙 So many Spurs podcasts in the build-up to hiring Thomas Frank.
Projects
- Yard stuff
- 🍏⚙️ Computer Stuff - Started preparing to upgrade from Sonoma to Sequoia on my main Mac at home.
- 🏡 Oven repair is still on hold until later next week at least- we have the replacement hinge, but need to be able to use it for this weekend.
- 🗓 Blog stuff I still haven't worked on finally publishing all of my backlogged week notes. I did get caught up on my June microcosm posts, though.
