π Week Notes 065
ποΈ // Mar 22, 2026 - Mar 28, 2026
I just noticed that I still haven't posted Week Note 064 even though it's been completely written for a week. So clearly even though I'm keeping up my writing for the most part I'm still working on my publishing habits. I'm also behind on my Microcosm posts even though I've set up everything in my custom microblogging tool to make exporting fast and easy as well.
π€§ Finally started to feel better this week, although this cold continues to linger in a reduced degree in my lungs and throat. I still have to take time every morning to get hydrated, clear out the mucous, and generally get functional again. My voice remains touch and go all day as well.
βͺοΈ Last night, the girls took part in the children's choir for the special child-focused Stations of the Cross service Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral does every year towards the end of Lent. This was the second year in a row for them, and I'm glad they were able to overcome their own colds this month to make the practices. South-bound traffic on Monroe was inexplicably at a standstill so we actually cut over to the Maple Street Bridge and looped back around to get them there on time.
π It took a while to sort out how we were going to finance the excellent deal we found for a super low-mileage 2014 Subaru Outback, but we're finalizing the deal today, and should be able to have it by early next week. Relieved to finally have enough cars for all the drivers in our house again with soccer practice resuming soon.
β½οΈ Spurs 0-3 Forest - Incredibly disappointing home performance for Tottenham last Sunday against their relegation zone rivals. The first 44 minutes were positive and promising, but the 45th minute sucker punch corner goal, and the misguided halftime substitutions that followed completely undermined everything Spurs had achieved in the first half. I feel bad that Igor Tudor learned of his father's sudden passing immediately after the game and wish him the best, but heading into the international break it feels clear that it's time for another coaching change.
Playing
βοΈThe girls were pretty excited about the new Minecraft release that dropped this week with all of the baby animals support that's somehow related to a golden dandelion. The one day I played this week I continued to do a bunch of caving, but I did managed to track down some moss blocks for future automated bonemeal farm generation purposes.
π§ββ Did MidWeek Magic and worked on my Daily Quests, but didn't do anything too exciting otherwise as I'd already hit Platinum in constructed over the weekend.
Watching
πΊ Daredevil: Born Again S2E1 ππ Wild start to the season with some real ICE final form-vibes for Kingpin's horrible anti-vigilante task force goons. Cool to see Matt accidentally deliver a significant blow to Mayor Kingpin's agenda in the opening scenes when the panicked ship captain and first-mate scuttled The Northern Star. But so many questions about what the CIA is up to. Good thing that Dare Devil has a lot of allies, particularly incredibly dangerous ones that he probably doesn't really want.
πΊ Paradise S2E7 ππ Great penultimate episode with a lot of tension a little bit of resolution, and of course some new questions. Very intrigued to see where things finish after the finale on Monday, and relieved to know that the originally planned third (and presumably final season) has already been green lit. I think three fully cohesive and well-executed seasons will make for a very re-watchable show in the future.
Projects
π€ Didn't do much at all with Claude this week other than getting some help on a shell script for a work task. Was surprised with how quickly I burned through my free tokens given how much I was able to accomplish previously, so I suspect I had some kind of introductory bonus going on when I was building my custom microblogging system. Actually used Gemini to help supplement what I was doing with the Claude shell script and ran into free limits there as well.
πΈ Starting on taxes in earnest this weekend. Not sure how much our return will be this year compared to past years as we've had more income and lost one dependent, but hopeful that there will still be enough that we can immediately put some of it towards the new (to us) car.
